Today is a good day, I guess, The sun is out, Its not blazing hot, yet its also not freezing ball's cold. I should be outside enjoying the day, But for whatever reason i decided i would spend today re-formatting my laptop. It has been a long time coming, During the re-install process, i found this nifty little firefox extension that will allow me to post to my blog, simply and easy without leaving whatever website I am browsing. Its nifty.

I know it has been forever, and a week since i have made an update on this thing, and for the most part I really have not had much to say, I've been sick. I've missed several days of work being sick. Days that would have been awesome if i could have just stayed home and played call of duty 4 all day. But i've been too sick to even enjoy that.

So, I'm going to finish nerd'n it up on this laptop, drink another case of mt. dew, and should i find something interesting i would like to share with the world. I guess I will be back with another post.

Apparently, some insane man decided that it would be a brilliant idea to rob a bank, but thats not the crazy part. This man also decided that he was a tree,

Police say the suspect used duct tape to attach tree branches onto his body as a form of camouflage. He then walked into the Citizens Bank on Elm Street and demanded money.

Now, the part i dont understand is that according to this article, there was no weapon involved. So it makes me wonder if it was the pure insane idea of duct taping leaves to your body that would cause the bank teller to just hand over an undisclosed amount of cash?

Its kind of amazing that the guy got away, with the money. Makes me think i should seriously consider a different career, If some idiot can pull this off, what in the hell are the banks going to do when educated people decide to start robbing them?

07-07-07 The Aftermath!

I don't really know where to begin about tonight. I guess it was a typical promotion night in a casino. There was far to many people in the building, and not near enough slot machines. Requiring me to get off my otherwise lazy ass. Speaking of ass, there was no shortage of it. Tonight was a good night plenty of attractive young females traveling in little groups looking for rich white men. There were a few that caught my eye, and to some degree we even spoke or made eye contact, which is my complaint. I had the courage, and i really wanted to talk to them, But professionalism prevents just that. Had i asked them for a number, or made anything other than a work related conversation. I could loose my job. I know right, it totally sucks. Anyhow, thats life. You live and you learn. Somewhere around 8 pm the casino started the 007 promotion, Its some kind of live show where these amazingly sex girls dress like bond girls and these somewhat homo British types stand around pretending to be bond. They danced, one even sang a nice song. It was somewhat entertaining, if not more a complete strain on the crotch. The majority of the night all of us various techs spent time in the break room on our laptops watching movies and surfing the dreaded myspace. All in all i got paid generous wages, to sit around and do exactly what i do at home. Goodtimes, Goodtimes...

I havent really been doing alot lately, But I did get a 60 dollar funny hat, and a week off from work. Boy has it been nice. I have made great lengths of progress on my server box, Full webserver (http://coreserv.ath.cx:85) and an FTP (Sorry, only buds) I primarily use the box as network storage, I moved most all of my storage drives to the server, so now very little is actually stored on my client machine. During the process there were some problems, A couple permissions issues caused me to freak out, during my freakage, I managed to accidently delete all of my wallpaper collection. This was a prized collection that I had spent many years collecting. So in light of this tragic event, I went on a search (or as some would call it a google) for the begingings of Shadow's next great wallpaper collection. So far I have found 5 desktop wallpapers that I absolutly feel must be in the collection. And here they are.

Number 1:

Lately I have been obsessed with angel's, Not normal angel's but dark angels, sort of the anti-angel if you will. Its hard to explain and some of it probably comes back to my religious belief's and i dont wish to dabble into those at the moment, but surely you can appriciate the irony.

Number 2:

I like guns, and I like Cats, There isnt really anything more to say about this one, Sometimes you just wanna be a gangsta.

Number 3:

When I think of dark angel's I never really think about them as male or female, becasue anyone who has seen dogma knows that angels, are ill-equiped. But i like this one, Even if it is anime inspired.

Number 4:

This one isnt really an angel, it follows along the anime inspired theme. But, She's a fuckin' demon!

Number 5:

I guess you can say i saved the best for last, Im not sure what to say about this image. It describes in so many ways how I feel alot of the time, Alone, Useless, It is a constant reminder that while im alone, and hopeless, He has no arms!

Now, It's 6am on Sunday morning. The last day of my big vacation. I am not ready to return to work. But at the same time I kinda can't wait. Wish me luck, Fuckers!

Well, Well, Well... I reserved Final Fantasy XII the other day, and while I am waiting for my game, I needed a quick JRPG fix, So, what to do, I picked up Enchanted Arms for the 360... Here are some videos... Its pretty good, Reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy 8 crossed with some form of pokemon/monster hunter game. Don't let the annoyingly gay character detour you, he isnt there very long anyhow.

I have taken a bit of a break from the whole blogging scene. I have been busy as hell at work. Things are going good, Sometimes one of the bosses can be a prick, but he is canadian go figure. Other than that my raise went through and im making some headway and earning the respect of upper management. I am trying to get myself a position with the company in Cali, preferibly the bay area. We will see. I have been fairly addicted to World of Warcrack.. which might explain some of my abscense, Also there is Thirteen37.net which i have posted on from time to time. Also things have improved alot since my last post, Robert, Zach, Daniel and I are all hanging out alot more. Last sat. we had a small get together at my apartment it almost felt like the old days. Only alot less messy. I have been thinking about getting a cat. Its a 200 dollar pet deposit, but i need something around my apartment to keep me company. On that note here is a picture of one of our old cats..

He was a badassed cat, And the picture is pretty damn cool too. so until next post. I will probably be playing wow.

Hey, this is Robert, long time friend of Lonnie's. I'll be helping him with this thing occasionally and as such I might as well tell you how I came to be here.

Almost a week ago, I was attempting to get a majority of my shit back together. I had just seated a new job that was headed for career, my fiance and I were finally getting our wedding plans set in stone and after long last, I would be able to afford my beloved internet connection again. As I sat at my computer updating and installing the modem, I was awash with glee to know that in only about 15 minutes, (or 67 remaining percent, whichever came first) I would again be fragging with the best of them. I went to the living room to grab some soda and a cigarette and whenever I had guessed that about fifteen minutes had passed, I went back into the office to check on the installation.

I saw the boot screen, saying that my hard drive was bad.

This is pretty fucking shitty, as you can well imagine.

After a bunch of bitching and useless rebooting, I went to sleep and then work the next day. Needless to say, I couldn't think of anything else. It wasn't just the computer, the computer had turned into a microcosm. Hey, if I couldn't get this to work, how could I get anything else together? Then I remembered that Daniel and I had made plans that Saturday to see a movie and we were going to get ahold of Zach and Lonnie. I could call Lonnie and tell him, and get some advice about my current situation.

I called Lonnie while I was at work, and that night we backed everything up and reinstalled Windows. The next day I had the same problem, except now it was worse than before. He came over and scrapped some parts off of an old system he had and got it running about 5x faster.

Anyway, things are fucking awesome now, back on the net, back in touch with my friends, good job, and the date for the wedding is April 29th in Woodward Park. Liz is sitting on the office bed behind me setting up the exact spot in Woodward and I have the next two days off. Like I said, Awesome.

Okay, speaking of awesome, if you haven't seen it (though you likely have) you should catch an episode of AwesomeTown, done by the Lonely Island.

Friends come, and friends go.

For some reason, I felt like looking back on my life, not really a feeling that I should be having. I have dealt with a lot of issues, heartbreak, and hardship, not to say all the times were bad. I guess a part of me is depressed, or perhaps it’s just the fact that I woke up today, and it was snowing. I look back like this probably every few months, a part of me feels like I should write it down, part of me wants those days back, and part of me just wants to move on. I have tried the latter two options, and I still find myself at the same conclusion, that is without conclusion. I guess in a crazy non gay way, I just miss my friends. So I’m writing a nice list of friends, and what was so great about them, and why I want them to come back into my life, or why I don’t want them around anymore.

I guess I will start this off with Mike; Mike was my best friend since like 6th grade. We met when he first moved to Oklahoma from South Carolina. We spent every day bullshitting, shooting stuff, hanging out at his parent’s house playing play station. We did everything together, I guess like blood brothers in one of those movies. Anyhow, we even took the same courses in college, focused on the same major, we even both took top honors in all the state competition, and test scores. Mike had gotten into some trouble and had to go to alternative school, I can still remember getting into fights, pulling the fire alarm, and purposely failing courses just to get thrown into alternative school with him. We even ended up dating the same girls off and on. I just miss hanging out, the parties, driving thru the woods at 3 am looking for haunted houses, the stupid shit that everyone does in their youth.

Having mentioned mike, this leads me to Tina, Tina at first was mikes friend. I’ll be honest at first I didn’t like her, she was getting between our friendship and brotherhood if you will. Later on, after actually getting to know her, I really began to like her a lot. We went on a few dates, talked to each other quite a bit, then, they both disappeared from the face of the planet, now don’t take it the wrong way, Mike and Tina never dated. Mike was dating some other girl at the time. It was probably mostly my fault. I lost my cell phone, and had to move a few times, they ran into similar problems. We just lost touch. So I figure if I find Tina, I’ll find mike, and vice-versa.

Moving on, Richard was on of my first friends from kindergarten. We were good friends, probably because we both lived with our grandparents; we were both the runts of the class, getting picked on during elementary school. Then we both grew overnight to be some of the biggest ass kickers in school. Richard fell into the wrong crowd, became a wigger, that was about the time I lost touch with him, however, he made my list, because I would really like to catch up with him, if he isn’t already in jail

There are many others, Robert, Daniel, Amy, Amanda, Star, Dylan, Cody, Joe, Troy, and Kayla. I miss you all, and I wish we could all get together for on last party. Alas everyone has moved on, gotten married, engaged, going to college or is in jail. So, Pretty much. It sucks. I have been guilty of the same thing, I burry myself in my work. Neglecting friendships, and loosing touch with people because of it. So, if you actually read this, and you’re a friend. And ive been distant. Just give me a ring. :p

Windows Vista.

I am trying to decide if i like microshaft's new take on how the computer should run. I have beta 2 of windows vista. i like alot of the features, the graphics ect. However, it requires at least 512 of ram to run.. and it eats all of that up, doing what, nothing.. Everything is hard to find, it tries too hard to be organized, when it ends up making everything hard to get too.. but it sure do look perty!!!

Anyhow, i spent all day trying to play cod2, no one would join me.. except for Kyle, and he is new.. then the internet died again, at least this time it was only for 5 mins... and they thought we wouldnt notice !!!

Flight Simulator X

Review - Civilization 4

Every man has his game, For some its shooters, for others role-playing. Civilization 4 is definitely not everyones game. The game is slow paced, Turn based, and to the average gamer a complete bore fest. I have spent quite a few hours playing shooters, and role playing games, i thought it was time for a change of pace, So what else is there to do but try out the latest Civilization game.
I had been hooked on the series since i first played Civ 2 on one of my first computers. The game play is addicting, and sometimes utterly frustrating.

For the longest time Civ III held one of the highest honors in my personal favorites list, to me it had reached its pinnacle, so to be honest i was a bit skeptical that civ 4 would do anymore than ruin the series. The graphics have been revamped, and now look silky smooth. Fortunately for the player the game play has not been butchered to any real extent. This is not to say that there aren't some changes in the series, because there are quite a few.

First of religion now plays a major part of game play mechanics. It is a useful tool for persuading neighboring civilizations to remain peacefully as well as can benefit trade. Another aspect of the game that has changed is how combat units are utilized. They are primarily the same as in the past games, however, you are now given the chance to promote, or if you will upgrade the units. Windmills, Water-mills, Lumber Mills, and cottages offer a balance between production, gold, and food. This was simply not possible in Civ III. This adds to the customization of each city, as well as allowing you to Taylor your cities economy how you see fit. Constructive units such as a settler or a worker will no longer take away from the population of the home city, in exchange for the the growth of the city is stopped during production of these units. Perhaps the most important and largest additions to Civ 4 is Great people, and Culture. This adds a whole new demension to the game play. You have a leader trait that will increase or decrease the birth rate of great people depending on how great of a leader you are. Great people act as a stat modifier to the cities they are housed in, or can be exchanged for hurry production, or other bonuses. The technology tree has been altered slightly allowing you more freedom over technology as it is no longer constricted to ages.

Overall the game focuses on the quality of the cities, not the shear number of cities. The best strategy i have found is to focus on a few cities, as financial wealth is power, and power is success. If you expand to quickly you will find yourself in financial trouble and probably playing catchup most of the game. Having given you a general idea of what the game is like. I think its time for me to put a few more hours into it. I cannot comment on the multi-player, as i have not had a chance to experience it in its full glory. If your a fan of the Civ series, or a turn based strategy geek, you will probably love this game.

DBZ Sucks, Fist of the North Star Pwns...

Before there was DBZ, there was Fist of the north star, In case your wondering what FTNS is, Its a rather simple formula really. you take japanese love of randomly fighting for no apparent reason, throw in some of the japanese obsession with animated movies/film and you have a hit on your hands.

Why do i care? Well, because the latest game in the long list of milked franchise suck.. is made by none other than Sega, Sega is god.. thus i am interested. No, seriously i will play, and probably like, just about anything made by sega.. well, almost.. anyhow. The team who created the original Guilty Gear is now part of sega. They have been working on this game, and so far, it looks like one of the best 2d fighters i have seen since Street Fighter II.

From what little i have heard from friends who have played the game, Its faithful to the serious and they have added a modified version of the instakill from Guilty Gear, only you have to do a bit more work to use it.

Today for lunch, I had a MDX, with a side of Quake 4 Ownage. (Not really, I'm still kind of a newb)

Never underestimate the power of the gauntlet.. We were in last place.. the gauntlet was the only thing besides the machine gun i could get my hands on.. it was Xaero.. i was getting pwned.. then i got 7 gaunt kills in a matter of a min or two. People were freaking out thinking i was cheating or something.. Im not the best quake player. but i have gotten considerably better at the game. Each day i play i learn new tricks :)

It has been a few days since i posted. Not much has happened. Went to another lan party sat. Got pwned as usual. Played some more quake 4, went to work. You know the usual. As i was half awake, I turned my Tv onto g4, i saw a neat article on attack of the show about turning any image into a comic image.. (http://www.the-magicbox.com/0511/game051103c.shtml).. So i took an image of me, and someone, i cant say that i remember who, having a lightsabre dual.

Thought it turned out pretty cool. The quest for games with blue skies continues. I found a couple of screenshots of the new Afterburner game from sega. I figured i would share them with you guys.

Also whilst at the lan party i was pretty bored during one of the moments when everyone was breaking each others computers and not playing, I made another wallpaper. I think it might get resized, so if it does, you can get the full size image at my deviant art page, located on the right.

Okay.. so im going to continue my 2nd journy through quake 4. It really is alot more fun on the higher difficulties. Tho stressful its a little more rewarding. I think when i complete it. Im going to take on the doom 3 expansion.

Some of you might notice a slight change in the title of the blog. Well I had bought the domain Thirteen37.net quite some time back for a project that has since fell apart. I didnt want to waste it.. so here' goes.. Welcome to Thirteen37.net It's my site. I will do as i damn well please.

Moving on... I recently got a Playstation2, and a copy of GT4. After playing it.. I like some things. but overall, i think Forza is probably a bit easier to pick up and play. Somehow i got on the topic of coop games. Probably in the wake of a Quake 4 map, and how i want to play Quake 4, Doom3, Halflife 2, Farcry, and FEAR coop with some buddies. Why in the hell do developers not feel the need to include this.. SURE farcry and Doom 3 get coop on the xbox version. But.. who wants to sit there and coop on split screen sharing one 19 inch tv. when they can have their own monitor, chair. table/desk and mouse and keyboard... Not to mention not have to sit next to each other and sniff each others farts. I tried a google search for coop games. It seems the only coop game that was made since like 98 is Serious Sam II, a game that i absolutly love. Its kind of retarded, but its fun, and a good time killer, The problem is. Everyone I know are complete assholes, and if the game wasnt their idea, they wont play. Or if its not uber realistic, or counterstrike they wont play. They bitch about wanting coop, and when there is one. They dont want to play. Honestly i am sick and tired of Counterstrike, and Battlefield. The new expansion sucks monkey balls, all of the maps suck. I wish BF2 would have been more like Desert Combat, Thank you dice for fucking up a good game :) Anyhow.. enough for todays rant. I think im going to go play some ps2.

The Aftermath... Lan party

Well, its almost 4pm on Sunday, I have finnaly woke up, Last nights lan party was alot of fun. We mainly played Quake 4 and Battlefield 2 Special forces. Which to be honest, BF2:SF wasnt all that impressive. Sure having a flash bang is cool, Night vision is really cool, however, it looses its effectiveness if everyone gets it. I think that only special forces should have night vision, everyone else should rely on lighting, and flashlights. Gives you the Ability to actually ambush someone. None the less i twas a good time. I think everyone knows that im a quake freak. So i wont have to describe that. It was fun getting a room full of us together for some Arena CTF, I think all in all we had the most fun with q4. I would have had more pictures, However, Skyy started crying that the flash on the cameras were hurting her eyes.. so being a nice guy, i stopped.. I have a cool lightsabre video too. I will try to upload it sometime, cant see the fighters, but you can see the blades. We spent a good portion of the night in the street having sabre duels.

I also got a new mouse. To go with the keyboard i got a few days back. It is the Logitech G5... BEST MOUSE EVER...

I didnt post on thanksgiving on purpose.. I was too busy. I went to my mothers, ate a small meal, then i went by Daniel's place saw his family for a bit hung out with him and brian, then I had to work, which involved driving for 2 hours to stand around for a few more, then drive back. On the bright side, i got to hang out with Chealsey some. Anyhow, after i got back, i stopped by Zach's place where we played with the new keyboard, and other studio toys. Figured i would post a few pictures, both of the keyboard and of us.

The keyboard is really nice, but only with a pair of hands, Zach was working on the Excorcist theme remix. It sounded really nice with a techno tempo to it.

But what good would the keyboard portion be with me mixing the bass beats?

Of course zach had to one up me with the preset beats...

It was alot of fun, I'm still shopping for the perfect electronic drumset. So if you know of any good deals, or anything about electronic drumsets let me know.

Yesterday at about 4:30 as I'm contemplating trying to leave early. I had planned on picking up a legal copy of quake 4, pick up some groceries, and maybe rent a movie. Brook's comes up to me, as I was on call last night, I asked him if i was going to run into any problems with Remington,

for those of you who dont know, Remington is the first non-indian casino in Oklahoma.Anyhow, he says you might as well head down there now. Which normmaly wouldnt be a big deal to babysit it for awhile, but this place is almost 2 hours away from my bed, I was running on 2 hours of sleep, Alas it was something different, and i couldnt refuse. I get there, Its Chaos, Charlie does his best to introduce me to management, guys with keys ect. Half of our machines are down, no one knows where anything is, Needless to say It was alot of fun. About an hour into it as charlie and I were "checking out the scenery" as we call it, a girl caught my eye. She was one of the waitresses that worked at the casino. She wasnt the hottest of them all, but something about her i saw more attractive than any of the others. Anyhow.. so i did something i never really did before. I walked up to her, with a straight face and started talking. She is a really awesome person. So yeah, we talked quite a bit last night, and im actually looking forward to my 12 hours tonight, and regretting friday being my last day in OKC. I took a few pictures of the inside of the casino, they turned out horrible as I was trying to be discreet (cameras are not allowed in casino's) This coupled with the fact that i cant remember how to turn the auto bright/focus crap off and it takes about 30 seconds to get focused then if you so much as bump the camera it blurs it again.. :(

Anyhow they have this giant round tv. It works by 3 bars of led's spinning really really fast, they blink and it makes the picture. Its interesting they said the display cost them 200K. Thats an expensive TV.but its round, i guess.

Above the TV in the center of the casino is a skylight thing. Very cool, or at least i thought it was awesome enough for a picture.

We are the only Vender in the casino with mechanical reels. There are only 10 in the casino at the moment. They are always full.

Thats the last of it for today. I will try to get some better pics tomorrow, If i can ever figure this damn camera out. Ive gotten really good shots, then most of them are fuzzy. I guess i have a shaky hand. and its a small camera. so until next time.

It has been almost two days since i have had a hardware error out of my computer. The majority of problems begain when my graphics card started over heating. I have a 6800 Ultra. And well they need to be cool. I also found out several months later, the power cord into my pc, the ground pin was broken on the inside, not making a good connection. This explained the randomness. Sometimes it would make connection other times it wouldnt. Everyone who knows me knows i have been battling this computer trying to find out whats wrong for the longest time, at any rate, i get this sorted out. Only to begin getting raid driver errors, and random blue screens. I assumed ram.. It wasnt ram, it all checks out fine. After alot of trial and error, and some hard drive utilities, I discovered a bad partition table on one of the drives in the raid pair. This usually translates into an issue with both of them.

I deleted my raid array, Low level formatted both drives, Reinstalled WinXP. I am not running raid currently. They are both Raptors. I use one for media, one for OS, and i have a 120 gig sata drive to store all my "warez" on if you will :) i like that word. Warez that is.. But honestly i just keep video's and backups of my games on it.. coughpr0ncough anyhow.. moving on.. Donni came over last night, we did some tweaking to our systems, he leached some of the war... err pr0n... yeah pr0n... and so i ran aquamark. I was very suprized at the score. I broke 70k with a 6800... Maybe i dont need to upgrade to the 7800 GTX just quite yet.

Went out to eat tonight with a friend and his mother, well one of my adoptive 2nd mother type mothers too :) We ate at Chilli's best damn burger i have had in a looong time.. then went and saw the movie Jarhead. One of the best movies i have seen in a long time as well. It was not what i expected. However, i was told that it wouldnt be. It was worth the money spent to see it i will say that.

Next movie i think i want to see is going to be Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash movie. I have heard great things about that. I also need to get caught up on the Harry Potter movies. They tell me they are good. We'll see.

Yes, can you believe it, its been almost 3 days, and im still hooked on the same game. Go figure.. Just thought i would let all my gamer friends know that NFS:MW is the best racing game ever to be played on a pc. Of course using an xbox controller makes it all that much more worthwhile. I got to hold a 360 pad. I love it, It has got to be the most comfertable controler every designed. I cannot wait until monday, for i will have an xbox360 controller for my PC. :) Anyhow.. I dont really know what i should post about. Im not saposed to post about a certian topic. so i will avoid it. I will say that my friend Andy is an asshole. I tell him something in private.. and he feels the need to send it to her, before leaving, and then laughs at me on the phone.. It wasn't even anything that important, Either way, im sure it still makes me look crazy, just how he did it :/

Moving on.. I worked like 18 hours, the install never goes right. First we were missing cams, then we got cams for the locks on the doors, then the entire server kept crashing 208 slot machines dying every 4 mins in a busy casino isnt exactly the most stress free job. I think we finnaly narrowed it down to one bad pc in the machines.. it was running sluggish, wouldnt communicate on the network, wouldnt control alt delete. nothing.. and when we pluged it in.. the server crashed.. Way to go shitty computers...

I just wanted to share a picture i found on a blog i was browsing.. Its soo.. i dunno.. fitting...

I think i need a vacation. Ive been sitting here talking to some friends. Listening to the new system of a down album. (If your a pirate let me here you say ARRR)Im still waiting for it to ship. Ive had it pre-ordered since mezmorized. Anyhow, Im digging through my vacation pictures from when i went to Corpus Christi two years ago with zach. We had a blast. I don't understand whats wrong with me. I am destined for failure. I meet the most perfect person in the world, and something goes wrong, I have no idea what is wrong, i have no idea what to do to make it right, i have no idea if there is any plans on remaining friends. I have no idea if its really even over. I wish i had some idea, some closure. I do not want to loose the most amazing person i have ever met. But who does. I dont want to loose the friend, I dont want to loose all the nights we stayed up talking. Maybe we spent too much time talking. I was begining to wonder that myself. I had alienated my friends and family for her, basically giving her every moment of my undevided attention, and now this, I feel like shit right now, Most couples at least talk their problems out. Not in this case.. I was just informed that there was a problem.. and then a whole long of being ignored. I guess its my fault. I should have never broken my no 2nd chance rule.. Had i done that, i would have been over the pain of the first time already... and happy again. But i thought she was special, someone who understood me. Someone who i had stuff in common with. Someone I could see myself with until i died. I have a habit of worrying alot, and my mind races... Its because i have been in this situation all too many times. and yes, this is exactly the same thing that happens every time. This is exactly what i feared, and exactly why i stopped dating in the first place. I guess if i had a heart it would be broken. But dont get me wrong, Its not over yet.. Im still hoping that something i will say will bring her back. But then again, when has that ever worked for anyone :(
If it is over, I just hope we can still talk. Even tho it would be strange I guess. Maybe i should have never been so open about my feelings, maybe thats what scared her. I dont know... at any rate, i wrote a poem today. Im not posting it yet, not until i know for sure its how i feel. I just want this feeling to go away.

Yes, another day another blog. I was happy this morning, It was sunny and bright out. I woke up like 2 hours behind schedule. Sammy was waiting on me of course. I felt kind of bad. We talked for awhile; she was unusually chatty, made me very happy. However happiness fades. She had to leave to cook, came back very sad sounding, She will never tell me what is wrong. I remote into her computer to fix her bittorent downloads, she was getting hammered with firewall denial as I call it. Got her all set up. Slamma sent her a private message. I had a little bit of fun with it. Deep down I guess it still bothered me. I talked to a couple friends about it, general conclusion was that there is no reason for him to be speaking to her in private, which is kind of what I thought. But then again, I don’t like it, but I don’t want to be demanding or controlling and say don’t talk to him. But its bothering me so much they say I should just say that. I feel bad about saying that, I don’t really want to but anyhow. I let it bother me way too much, a lot more than I should. But I have a huge issue trusting people, and Im surprised I trust her as much as I do. Let me take that back. I trust her completely, I do not trust them. I know how men think. After all I have been one all my life. I guess its because I’ve been screwed over so many times, I just wait for it to happen again. It could be the fact that I’m just afraid of this whole long distance thing, or maybe I am afraid of love. I don’t know. I talked to her some about it. I used this analogy It is the best I could think of, and I think its pretty fitting. “If a guy and a girl are dating, and they go to the mall, and another guy says she has a nice ass and slips her a phone number, then her bf finds out they have been talking on the phone. Would he not have the right to be angry, and/or concerned?” She took it well I hope. She told me she wouldn’t talk to him anymore. Which is kind of what I wanted? But not really, I guess I just figured that that should have been something that was obvious, and hoped that it would be realized. What is done is done. I just hope its not going to be bad. I hate when things go bad.

So I went to pick josh up to get his glasses, We drove around for awhile listening to The Dreaming discussing how good it is to have an emo band that’s more than just a guy crying at his guitar. After that I put in the Ludo cd, broken bride. I never got a chance to listen to it all the way through. It’s a very touching story about a guy who’s wife gets in a car wreak, so he builds a time machine and is going back to 89 to save her, the time machine messes up, parts fly off, and he crash lands before the birth of Christ. Pterodactyls swarming trying to eat him. He fixes the time machine, but its still broke and he ends up in a city swarmed with zombies, or the rapture if you will. It ends up everyone dies and he has to choose save humanity, or himself. He chooses humanity. Very touching rock opera, probably the only other band to successfully pull it off since Queen.

Anyhow, this blogging thing isn’t half that bad. I will probably regret half of the posts, and want to delete them. But I don’t delete blogs. It just shows you have something to hide. Might as well face the music and leave it up. Besides, It’s not like anyone actually reads this shit anyhow.

Don't really know what to say, today has been a perfect day. Expecailly after the amazing evening i had last night, orgasmic if you will. Soo distracted in fact i broke my promiss to blogg every day. So I guess this is goign to be a 2 in 1 post. Im just sitting at home talking to Sammy. My computer has all these strange problems still all of which i know are software related. Ive narrowed it down to a raid driver issue.. alas ill probably reformat as soon as i finish backing everything up again. I will be glad to get a stable release on this system. now that i have sorted the hardware issues i think this will be the last reformat for a long time. Also, I added a new song to the playlist :)

Everyone in my family is a musician,I think im a black sheep. I used to pluck around on a guitar when I was younger, however the one instrument I have always wanted to play, and in grade school I did play was the drums, However, living with roommates, neighbors, parents, I never could get my own set. Since forming the band Moronic Missfire with Zach I have been more interested in music as a whole, not just the computer generated end of it. While MM is still primarily a techno/experimental band. I still want to take it a little further. I think I have found the perfect set. I cannot go with a traditional drum set, due to the constraints of living in an upstairs apartment. However, Roland makes a really awesome Electronic Drum Set.. I figure I will have the 1000 dollars it will take to purchase the drum set in just about 6 weeks.

I have been writing music, and working on remixes somewhat the past few days. I cant wait until we get started on the studio cuts for the album. So far we are mearly goofing off with the possibilities we have found a possible bass and guitar player, I will soon be taking on drums, and if im drunk enough vocals. We would like to have a female vocalist. But that’s the bottom of our priorities. Right now its all about having fun and learning new things.

Also, I have made a self commitment to make at least one blog a day, I’m not sure how long I can stick this out. But the more content in this blog the better. I am in a good mood, talked to Sammy twice tonight. She lied to me earlier, it was an innocent lie, but non the less it still hurt. I wont go into detail but its better now.. I guess I lied too I said I was going to bed after I took a shower, hehe but im writing this blog. Then sleep, and sleep my little ass off I will. So I guess we are even :p until next time goodbye.

Just wanted to make a quick blog about my new keyboard, This thing is awesome. Has a nice little backlit LCD display that shows my cpu/ram, mp3's ect.. Very cool Keyboard. :)

It is all Zach's fault he bought one, so i had to buy one too.. i wanted to get the MX5 gamer mouse. But im not that rich, maybe next payday. I also got a new case for my pc.

Another Close Call.. Disaster Avoided

Last night was an interesting evening to say the least. I actually went out and about on the town. It was great, lots of beer, hanging out with bands. Being me, hanging out with the guys from A.D.D was an awesome experience. There were 3 other bands at the show, Wither started the set off, with a kickass almost progressive rock show. Probably the heaviest of the group. Following Wither was Ludo, They reminded me a lot of They Might Be Giants, Charismatic, full of energy and well thought lyrics. Then was the main event. My boys A.D.D rocked the stage. Mostly acustic duo, Then John rocked out to what seemed like a SRV tune on the guitar, this boy is good. Followed by a rocking son with a guest guitar player (The Vocalists brother). After this, was the effects. Your typical emo/punk modern trio, they rocked. However the sound has grown old to me, Mayhaps im just growing up, who knows. After the show, I felt I was a bit too tipsy to be driving anywhere. So we sat around talked to the band. I let mike drive, We pull out and were sitting behind one of the band vans waiting for them to move so we can get out… and out of no where a red suv clips my rear end scrapes down the side of my car destroys my mirror. We park it jump out peoples yelling like 8 black guys get out of the suv all drunk as hell listening to rap music, makes me wonder why they were in a parking lot of a rock show anyhow. Mike gave them like 800 bucks to just settle down and not get the police involved as we were all drunk and it would have ended up a lot worse for both parties. I took over, drove us home. Mike was so angry and pissed, he threw up like 8 times on the way back. Got home, immediately ripped the guys music to my hard drive and put all the autographed cd’s in my fire safe.

Well, It’s Saturday again and I have had one hell of a week. A lot of drama ups and downs, typical bullshit I guess. I think everything is turning out very well. I feel kind of bad, I have been neglecting my gaming clan (www.tkclanonline.com), they are my brothers. I haven’t really been all that inspired to play many games of any kind recently. However I have been drawn back into music. As a result I met someone amazing. Which made me wonder if I ever would get back into gaming at all? I wondered for all of five minutes until one of my clan mates poped me on xfire with a copy of Call of Duty 2.

Of course I was a bit skeptical, But I tried it I’m naturally good at this game, perhaps from the years of playing MOH. It felt good getting to play with them again. Seems we haven’t had a game since Counter-Strike Source that we could all get into at the same time. I really hope this is it.

Then again I don’t think I will be playing all that much, as all I want to do is spend time with Sammy. However, when she isn’t around it sure helps pass time. I spent quite a few hours this morning playing Quake 4,

I have always been an id fan boy. The game is uber violent and looks amazing. Its almost like Doom3 on steroids. I have a couple of screenshots of it for you as well.

I have been whoring it up on myspace (www.myspace.com/orphenshadow) quite a bit lately, seems Zach and I have been having this competition to see who can get the most friends. Thus far we are tied however we shall see. I mainly go on there for music and to talk to some of the bands I enjoy listening too, one look at my profile and you’ll see its mostly bands, and very close friends. One of the bands im going to see tonight is ADD (www.addrockson.com). They are releasing a new disk tonight and I promised John that I would be there. Their music is always well written and very meaningful, I can’t count the times I’ve listened to them when I was sad. VERY good stuff. I’m going with my friend mike, his girl is out of town for the weekend and she wants me to keep him out of trouble. Wow, I feel like such a mature person. I really hope I don’t let her down. I’ve been aching for some trouble lately.

Creatively lately I’ve been uninspired, well kind of. More distracted. I have a lot of ideas however not enough time. I am currently working on remixing a couple songs by The Dreaming (www.thedreamingmusic.com). I’ve contemplated reinstalling 3ds max 8. I reassure everyone dreamfx is still very much alive. We have just been busy working on other projects.

Part of the hesitation to get into a project has been the instability of my pc. For the past 5 months its been rebooting, artifacting, overheating and just about everything strange. I think I have found the solution. I noticed a ground wire that was loose on the power supply, the temps have dropped and all the strange glitch’s have ceased. However there were two reboots today while gaming. I noticed the Dumprep -0k bug in my startup, since I deleted them, its stopped and I haven’t had another problem since.. Im going to go ahead and stop my rambling and go back to talking to Sammy now. Love peace and hairgrease!

As most everyone knows, one of my many nicknames is KidCasino, or the CasinoKid, ive been working in casino's and the slot industry since i graduated high school. Anyhow at work we had a competition to come up with some game theme ideas... and i got one of the top 3 and won 100 dollars...YAY

The first wave of "Name That Game" is now completed. Unfortunately, none of the top picks made it through the trademark check process so we will be unable to use the submissions on developing actual games. The committee has decided this time to award the top 3 finalists $100 each for their participation anyway.

While KMFDM slipped us Hau Ruck not too long ago, this got me and some friends wondering, what rammstein was up too... We didnt really check the website or anything... well is say we didnt.. it would appear that since Zach (Rocko) instant messaged me repeating RAMMSTEIN - ROSENROT over and over again... i noticed a new album.. you can hear some tracks on their website, However, patience got the best of me, and i immediatly went to my favorite torrent tracker and downloaded a copy.. Have no fear, Come friday, i will own a legal RIAA approved copy :)

The album is somewhat different than alot of rammstein we have heard in the past, Stirb Nicht vor mir is probably my favorite, featuring german male vocals, with an almost heavenly female singing in english.

Much like the new KMFDM cd, Hau Ruck, Rosenrot is alot more polished and cleaner than any of the efforts in the past.

I give it 4 outa 5 stars :)

Well, I was going to take a break from blogging today.. But I just got the worse news ever. I have been waiting to go see Our Lady Peace for quite some time. By a strange twist of fate, Rocko won tickets. However, he would have lost the tickets, had I not called him and told him.. “ZACH ZACH CALL THE EDGE LIKE NOW OMG” and hung up… so anyhow we made plans to go, I got excited, he swapped his Halloween holiday off.

My first reaction was… Oh fuck you OLP!!! Then I found out they canceled because one of the member’s wife is ill. I will be very pissed off if I find out she had the flu or something like that. I think it’s probably bad, considering they canceled 3 major cities along with Tulsa.

I was also planning on catching a free show on Friday to see 30 Seconds to Mars.. but Its also October fest time. So I think I am going to go eat some brats smell some kraut (I won’t eat this nasty shit)

I guess ill go see Default on Sunday, its only twelve bucks. They have a few good singles out, I am kind of curious to see how energetic the live show is. Anyhow, Im going to call it a night I think :)

Now, I feel like a complete retard. I have been collecting parts to build a Linux router box for quite some time. I have also in the mean time been cursing Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing. It is the devil. I started to research my modem online; low and behold my modem also acts as a router. I spent a few hours toying with settings, before realizing that Valor has blocked any true admin aspects with an unknown login. Which is kind of shitty considering i bought the modem, and plan to keep it with whatever provider i choose in the future. Oh well.

Anyhow, back to what happened.. so I got to thinking, what the hell, I unplugged the modem from my 2nd nic and plugged it into the net gear switch I have. Next thing I know both machines are online with independent ip’s this may seem like a small accomplishment, but you have no idea how rewarding it is to be able to reboot my main pc, while still chatting on team speak on the 2nd box.

Among all the router/network issues I have been experiencing I have somewhat of a funny story. I was driving back from a site in my work van. When I looked down and my speedometer said I was doing 115mph… which was odd considering I was on an onramp, and old ladies were passing me. I have no idea what broke, but I stopped at the shop, put it in park, and it said I was doing 38mph sitting still. So, I get to spend a great portion of my day tomorrow taking it to the mechanics shop to get it fixed.

Seriously, I like this game.

Everyone remembers back in the day, Duke nukem, Redneck Rampage, Blood, ect.. classic shooters that focused on cheeze value to make them unique, one of the last games to make use of comedy rather than ultra realism, was the original serious sam. I loved it, it was action packed and would make you laugh so hard milk would come out of your nose.
I just recently got a copy of the sequal, after playing the demo, i was left dissapointed, but i figured what the heck i will give it a try anyways. The new engine is probably the smoothest FPS engine i have seen in awhile, its got an arcady almost UT feel, but still has the polish, and the physics of the source engine.

One major addition to the gameplay is vehicles.
They are fun, however they seem to add a "halo" feeling when playing the game.

So far the begining of the game is simular to the last game.. Your basically a god, or the chosen one rather, your on a distant planet, and some creapy little creatures need your help. In serious sam 2 however, these creatures are more like a combination of a smurf and a teletubby.

The baddies in this game are both creative, as well as intimidating.
Check out this robo-tyrantula!

If thats not good enough for you, Serious Sam II packs enough
blood to make everyone a bit squeemish. Although it is a bit much at times,
I still manage to squeeze in a chuckle every time this happens.

Serious Sam II is probably the smoothest running game i have played in awhile. The engine is advanced, and the physics are nice. All in all i would have to give it an 8 out of 10.

It's not often i actually love a game so much i want to write about it. But im very addicted to this game.. Its actually much better than the first game. Unlike the first game the sequal has more of an RTS element to it, Allowing you to add your own flare of creativity to the cities built and giving you more control ont he needs of your people. as always its a balance between good and evil, and you must pick a side, the game is never the same twice.. for any two people either.. since everyone will do something different... sometimes i just pick up about 20 of my people and throw them out into the ocean... heh.. even god has a mean streek..

Well, the weather is finnaly changing, and for the most part, I am happy. However while this is my favorite time of the year. Yes you heard me right, i enjoy the gloomy cloud covered skies with chilly windy cold weather. It goes really well with my mood most of the time. While my heart loves the weather, well mostly i enjoy sitting behind a window looking outside drinking a hot cup of joe, my body hates it. I have spent the last 5 days sick as hell, i have been throwing up, or asleep, on top of that i was the tech on call last weekend.. while i was sick mind you... The IT manager is in the bahamas on vacation. So.. basically... I was your man. I'm it., so common sense would dictate that anything and everything that could possibly go wrong would.. and it did. But on the bright side i get paid tomorrow. the extra hours should be about an extra check to me. so thats always good.

Another thing that might be worth mentioning is that i have since rejoined mercora, its good to see some of the old people, however most everyone has gone. I guess i can catch up with them at stecnet (which if you havent visited is www.stecnet.com) The mercora chat keeps me occupied when im at home. I have always had a roommate, or a girlfriend up until this point so i havent really ever lived truely alone.. lemme tell you it sucks. No one ever calls, no one ever just drops by anymore. It's always quiet. and always lonely. If i werent so damn poor i think i could go occupy myself somewhere else. But thus im broke.. so ill just sit at home. This is not to say i dont enjoy talking to everyone. But there is only so much a computer screen pal can do, he cant go drinking with you, you cant scout out chicks together... it just sucks.. maybe we can get everyone to move to one town, buy a big building and just get along... oh yeah, that would go over real well :p well my lunch break is about over. Its time to get back on the road. busy weekend ahead of me.

Its been quite some time since i have posted on my blog, Alot has changed. a couple jobs have come and gone, I havent talked to kayla in forever, Im sure she probably hates me now. I lost my business, My phone, My home, and most importantly my internet for quite some time. Things are looking up, I found a really good job, Yes im still working in the gambling industry, and of all places, at my former firms arch rival. They treat me really good, With the exception of what the office lady did the other day. She has been questioning one hour of overtime i worked the other night. Its not her place to question it.. but whatever... just gota let it roll off my shoulder. I was staying with some friends of mine. I had to get out.. well its kind of funny actually. Being the only one of the group of three with steady job. I found myself spending and/or planning on spending quite a bit of money on the household.. which itself didnt bother me. But when someone who is unemployed tries to act like a father figure, questions where the money is going, and is all around an ass, it dosent make matters better. Anyhow long story short, it took me a bit to get caught up, and as anyone who has ever worked a real job knows, you cant magically make money appear out of one check. so the gas bill was a few days, late, i was going to pay it. But i think it was just the straw on the camels back. they got pissy, and decided to tell me to move out. Which was fine by me, I had made my mind up, that i was leaving the night before. Of course i have heard that the person who was going to take my room, backed out, and now they are looking for someone to help support them. It really worries me, they are friends, but a few years younger, and much more immature. I think it takes a few years of being out on your own before you realize that not everything is perfect, not everything can happen the way its saposed to, and that life is a struggle.. moving on, i got my own apartment, its a cozy little one bedroom with a washer and a dryer, i got cable with all the channels, im getting DSL internet, a phone, everything... all my bills, and my car payment run me just over what rent alone was in the other house... So i cant really complain... My modem should be here in the morning and i can abandon this god aweful dial up. :p Ive been listening to alot of avenged sevenfold, its got a wierd iron maiden sound to it.. im finding it quite relaxing. Also i guess before i retire to bed ill have to wish Robin best of luck, she just told me she got engaged. Someone is a very lucky guy.. i wish them the best of luck. As for me, Ill bounce between the usual suspects, and probably die alone. but heh, at least ill have fun :p

The past few days have been uber busy. I have been burried in work, both for profit, and for betterment of the mind. What begain as research for the manuscript for LacunaX, has turned into something, that will take me forever to complete. I have decided to write the entire story to Lacuna X. The plot, ideas, and characters have been in my head for quite some time. However, How can i tie my story into presant, and even past. These challenges have caused me to begin alot of research into the possibility of an ancient race with a technological level equal, or beyond what we are currently at. After doing a little research i was suprized at how much evidence is actually out there. While little to none of this has anything to do with LacunaX, the Game, or Book. It has been an interesting topic of research. I have not been able to sleep well, for a few days. My mind has been racing, I must finish this story, and then, must create the game. This is my ambition, This is my future, this is why i am here. So in light of these subjects, I found it somewhat compelling to post some verses from the Mahabharata written around 6500BC...

If this is not a hoax, and was actually written in ancient text. It may or may not make a difference to the modern man, But much of the technology written in the ancient scrolls of india, refer to battles on the moon, battles with the people of atlantus, as well as instructions for spacecraft. I must spend some time reading through reports, and translations. Probably reading the forged translations of conspiracy theorists. But either way. I love Sci fi, and this, would in some ways be classic sci fi.

Well, Cooked some damn good pepper steak tonight, I was going to have a meeting with my development team, But they decided they had better things to do, Cant get too pissy we are all working for free here. So, what do i do instead, Well there was this interesting infomercial about ebay, and how you can make thousands and thousands of monies on ebay, but at the bottom it says, rare cases only, and then it says that this is gross cashflow, So, anyhow i just wanna stab and kick the fuck out of loosers, who put together a book that tells you how to sell stuff on ebay, I mean come on its friggin ebay. You post stuff. Ppl buy it, thats all there is to it,, But even worse, i would like to stabb the poor lost souls who actually buy this crap, Mayhaps im just a bit bitter, that that bastard is getting rich off of everyones ignorance and stupidity, and i only get payed 13 bucks an hour to help stupid ignorant people..... Well the Tele did get slightly better, as the history channel aired a show about “custards last stand” History rocks, but i prefer the death and destruction of WWII, so needless to say i muted the tele, and installed sims2, made me a happy family, Then the house catches fire, and the firemen come in, and spill water all in the house, and my lil-mans girl wants to make babies all the time, and they never change clothes, its always the same thing, Perhaps ill find the birthday suit patch.. Overall, today has been kind of a pissy day.... and its only 6:40 am.. UGH...

Ugh, Tired, but awake, i hate this feeling, Anyhow, after watching Team America, (FUCK YEAH), and Taxi, i decided to add my smashing pumpkins to the collection, Ive added all of the pumpkins cd's that i have, So look for them in the broadcasts to come. Anyhow, its late, and im going to pass out on my couch watching history channel again. I can feel it. Oh yeah, Tina came by and saw me yesterday, it was good to see an old friend, Shes doing well, and better than ever, fixing to go off to college, i guess there is one last time for everything, and by everything, im refering to hanging out like we used to. I really havent made any progress on my debt situation, but for some reason my computer keeps getting better. :) Work has been eternaly stressful and ive been needing to get away, so today is the first day of my vacation, and my weblog, I am at the office, just woke up from the couch, the last three hours have been the only sleep i have gotten since monday.
